Shon Ewens

In her own words:

I was born in Stevens Point, WI and grew up in Sarasota, FL.

My husband John and I recently moved back to Sarasota from Birmingham, AL where I was an Executive Director for a YMCA.

We recently had a son, Jackson, and realized we wanted to be back home where our family is to have a support system to lean on as we raise him.

I have been in the non-profit industry for 17 years and really am looking forward to leading LCS. I feel I have a lot of experience and ideas that will be well suited for this organization.

In my spare time I love to play golf.

Admin-Assistant – Betsy Dane

Betsy is originally from New York City, and moved to Sarasota in September, 2001 with her husband, Tom, and their two daughters, Allie and Emma.  A graduate of Finch College, and with post-graduate degrees from Columbia and Fordham Universities, she has extensive experience in both the non-profit and financial sectors, and has worked with children and their parents as a literacy volunteer.  She looks forward to working with Shon and the LCS staff, Board and volunteers to help the Council grow.
